More than once this weekend, I heard “Go big or go home!” and that was Travis + Molly’s wedding to a T. Travis is in the lighting business and Molly loves planning events, so their two-day celebration was a photographer’s dream! Friday evening they had a private ceremony with colored uplighting and romantic twinkle lights strung the whole way round the guests’ seats. And on Saturday, they invited all their friends & family to party at an outdoor concert with food trucks, live bands, sparklers, and fireworks…like I said, “Go big or go home!” ;)
Read MoreZac + Leah are such a sweet, fun-loving couple and their wedding matched perfectly! The ceremony had SWEET touches, like a Tree Watering moment. And the reception was filled with FUN as their family & friends crowded the dance floor and our photo station all night long!
Read MoreWe were excited about the thought of a vineyard wedding, but just WOW, this venue blew our expectations out of the water! Lauren told me yesterday, when they toured Starr Hill Winery and saw the scenic views from the ceremony space, they were sold and I 100% agree!! And those SUNSETS…just look for yourself!!!
Read MoreToday, Tyler & Johanna celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary! This weekend, last year, they had a beautifully intimate ceremony with their closest family & friends. And yesterday, they celebrated a year of marriage with their official wedding reception! It was so special to relive & remember so many moments from Part 1 last year, including a reception replay of the highlight video we created for them last year! This year, there were unique touches, like Tyler helping Johanna get dressed this time around and the bridal party finally getting the chance to toast Tyler & Johanna’s marriage! But really, yesterday was all about having FUN at the reception, packing the dance floor and Photo Station all…night…long!!! Such a fun way to celebrate your 1st Anniversary!
Read MoreYesterday’s wedding was an unforgettable one for Matt + Alexis’ guests, no doubt! Beautiful weather for an outdoor ceremony by the water, a packed dance floor all night, ending with an epic Sparkler sendoff! But my favorite moments, hands down, were the ones unseen by most guests (until we showed them that evening with our Reception Screening, of course!) That morning, after Alexis got ready, she had 3 private First Looks with the most important men in her life: her father, Pappy, and new husband <3 Count it as another wedding shooting through tears in my eyes!!
Read MoreWe always love including a bride + groom’s favorite hobbies as a couple, like Kayaking. But what we love even more for engagement shoots is having FUN with our couples! At the very beginning of this session, Kyle told Sam & I, that if nothing else, he’ll at least make us laugh. And he wasn’t kidding! I remember laughing SO HARD with Kyle & Sarah that I was doubled over from my sides hurting!! It takes skill to shoot through the pain ;) But totally worth it for how fun & adorable these two were together!
Read MoreWOW, there are just some weddings that, as a guest, you won’t forget…and I have a feeling, Mike + Joanna’s will be one of them! There’s not much more you could have packed into their Reception, when it came to memorable moments: a classic hits song medley, including the bride’s namesake “Joanna”, for the Father Daughter dance…a kid’s dance-off contest…a live Polka band with the always fun Polish Dollar Dance (that’s the one where the groom has to fight his way through all the guests circled around the bride)…a special Sinatra celebrity impersonator appearance…and a surprise polka performance by the bride’s mom and aunts as a tribute to her Grandfather <3 The energy was electrifying and so were the groom’s and his brother’s suits they changed into for the Reception…I guess that’s what happens when your father-in-law owns the local Tux Shop! ;)
Read MoreCameron and Taylor’s day finally arrived, after a reschedule due to the pandemic. 2020 proved to be a tough year for them, as they lost multiple loved ones who would have loved to been in attendance yesterday. A filled memorial table, a special song played during the toasts that brought tears to the guests’ eyes (mine included!) and such a sweet substitute of the best man, with his father stepping in to fill the role of his son who passed away last year <3
Read MoreJosh + Sierra have been together for three years, and one of their favorite date activities is Mini Golf. So we had fun plans to take lifestyle photos at a local mini golf course, followed by some pretty sunset pictures. But when you find out the carnival is in town the night of your session, you ask the bride & groom if they’re up for some bonus session time in the neon lights ;) SO FUN!
Read MoreStephen & Courtney chose a stunning venue to have their intimate wedding ceremony yesterday!.The mansion had gorgeous places both inside and out for photos, even including a heart-shape garden! Of course we had to make that shot happen, even if it was from a second story window ;)
Read MoreHow fitting that, this Father’s Day weekend, we shot a wedding where the Dad was the source of so many sweet, emotional moments <3 After seeing the way Gina and her father laughed, cried, and embraced all throughout the wedding day, it’s no wonder that Gina does the same with her new husband. Such a good reminder that the love from a girl’s daddy will be carried throughout her life!
Read MoreOne of our favorite things to do with engagement shoots is to showcase who our couples are! What are their hobbies, favorite date spots, and in general how do they spend their time together. For David + Lindsay, that includes 1. hunting and archery in their own backyard and 2. walks and cuddles with their fur baby, Boland! The bow & arrow AND Bobo the puppy made a perfect combination for their session!
Read MoreWhy s’mores for an engagement session, you ask? ;) Travis + Molly had mutual friends that are in a Christian worship band. They would cross paths at concerts and Molly had heard of what a good guy Travis is. One time, the church hosted an outdoor concert with a S’mores station! Molly had made herself a S’more and sat next to Travis to watch the show. She broke off half of the S’more, gave it to him, but then proceeded to take half of that half back, haha! After the concert, they connected and chatted the night away. So began their love story <3 Oh, and those mutual friends?? You’ll see them on the blog again this September, as the Best Man & Matron of Honor at the wedding!
Read MoreJust over 3 months ago, I received a text from my bride, Sarah, who had just found out her reception venue cancelled their wedding due to the pandemic’s capacity restrictions. In her words, she was distraught and asking for any help I could provide on possible replacement venues. Within minutes, I sent her a list of local venues we have shot at, with the link to a page on our website that features day-after blog posts for each of those venues! (So helpful to be able to see how all the formal events and open dancing of an actual wedding look like in the space.)
Needless to say, Sarah was grateful for the support and the next day they secured their new venue, Luigi’s Villa. And now, the day after Andrew & Sarah’s wedding, I look at these photos and think they honestly couldn’t have ended up with a more perfect reception venue…besides the fact that the location was perfect (on the same street as the church), it also had a gorgeous chandelier, drapery, and lighting that perfectly matched the romantic ambiance Sarah envisioned for her special day. It all worked out in the end and these two love birds had a PERFECT sunshine and blue skies day!!
Read MoreHow do you go from freezing cold, snowy weather one weekend to sunny, warm & gorgeous blue skies the next? Live in western PA, haha! We told Alex & Natalie, “Thank goodness you got married THIS weekend and not last!” ;) Yesterday, they had perfect weather for their perfectly-them, laid-back, outdoor ceremony and barn reception!
Read MoreIt’s always fun to explore new areas for engagement shoots (especially gorgeous ones like Point State Park), but it’s even more fun to hang out with and capture photos of FUN hike-trailing, book-loving couples like Zac + Leah! (Fun Fact, if you spot it, Zac proposed in Kane!) We have different themes to our sessions and one of them is called “Goofy + Giggly”…check out the last photos below, NAILED IT! hahaha
Read MoreCorey + Brenna’s wedding was the first wedding of our 2021 wedding season and the weather couldn’t have been more gorgeous! The bride either for that matter ;) Beautiful blue skies and blue eyes! Not only was Brenna radiating in her hair, makeup, and oh-so-sparkly dress, but the love she has for Corey was radiating between them throughout the day too!
Read MoreMatt + Gina had a mutual friend that just knew they would be great together and suggested the two meet sometime…as fate would have it, they ran into each other at a local restaurant. They made a coffee date before Matt went into work, but later he realized he left his credit card at the restaurant. So he asked Gina if she could grab his card and, of course, that meant they would have to get together again to exchange ;) After hearing that story, and checking out the restaurant’s website, I just knew we needed to take some of Matt + Gina’s engagement photos at Table 105!
Read MoreAs we get to know our couples and brainstorm ideas for their engagement shoot, their hobbies are something fun to discover! Many enjoy activities like hiking, picnics, and wine tastings…but when we get one as unique as Parkour, we just HAVE to incorporate it into the session! ;) For Josh & Caroline’s photo shoot, that involved climbing trees, walls, railings, and buildings, SO FUN!!
Read MoreFall is such an exciting time of year…time for sweaters, boots, pumpkin patches, and corn mazes! Which is exactly where we headed for Steve & Julia’s engagement shoot. We even made plans to start with a picnic, as a nod to the sweet way that Steve proposed on a sunrise hike with yummy baked goods Julia prepared in a picnic basket.
